Title: Sears Christmas Wish Book 2010
Post by: pdaat on August 19, 2010, 06:00:36 AM
Not that it is any great surprise, but there appears to be no GIJoe product in this years Wish Book.

Actually, the whole toy section seems to be a little weaker this year.

Sears and the Bay have been reducing their Toy section for that last few years.  Walmart is to blame must likely, they can't compete.  TRU is in class all on its own as no one can compete with their selection.

Even the big The Bay in downtown Montreal has closed it's toy section.
As for TRU having the best selection... it used to be like that.

Actually (and very sadly I'll add), Walmart sells more toys worldwide than anyone, almost 2 to 1 to Toys R Us (who are hurting very, very badly).  Walmart has no competition for toys.
I remember the old days (mid-80's), when the Sears and Eaton's catalogs were actually important to me and my friends.  I'd argue they're really only important to the elderly today.
Sad, sad, sad, but such is life!

I will point out that SW and TFs still have 2 page spreads - though sparsely populated.

Sears is pushing the CD version that uses Flash.  But you can still get the book if you ask.

Yeah - another LEGO competitor.  Mega Bloks would do better if you didn't have to crazy glue the pieces together.  My son would love more HALO stuff.
