-Very tough to log in
-Next to impossible to log out
-A lot of loading time between pages
-Site is "offline" most of the time..
I have a brand new computer (with high speed Internet connection) and I don't have these problems anywhere else..
-
Same here, I thought it was a crappy Rogers Internet connection, but I get the same issues at work.
Be paitent 5h4rK, good things are worth the wait!

I have not had a problem.
Sorry.
-
Strange, the site has had nothing but constant up time.... Morg had issues a couple of weeks back as well.
I have no issues logging in or getting to the site. I have found it slow at times - but that's usually when we have a bunch of people on the message board.
How about this. If you have issues, post your ISP and what issues you're having.
And please, keep the jokes and off comment stuff OUT of this thread.
-
The site knows that 5h4rK and I post too much and wants us to slow down...
....
-
Mike, I still have issues with this site and had the same thing when I went to your store the other week.

Yep, same thing on BHT!.. btw Mike, what's an ISP?.. :-[
-
i have loading problems, (slow load) and it doesnt matter where i am mike, at home (wirless connection), at school (hardwired to laptop), in my truck on side of the road (internet stick) and all three of them using my laptop and 3 diffrent internet providers, and this is the only slow load site i get.
-
No problems at home, at the library or through my cell.
-
The only problem I have had is that requesting/resetting my password never works, I don't even get an email. I can only log on on one computer because I forgot the password and it autofills on my PC. I don't want to start another account just to be able to log on on my laptop. Speed wise the site's been ok with Bell DSL.

Is your email correct on the site? Shoot me a PM with your current email address and I'll look into that part for you.

i keep getting messages about IE/Google 'can't find the site'...
Shark: ISP = Internet Service Provider, IE who you signed up with an access the net through. usually a phone company.
-
The site is usually slow, at home or at work. However I can log in faster at work for some reason.
Each time I attempt logging in from home, my Firefox asks me to allow the page to appear, I click "allow", and then I'm forced to refresh the page if I want to see the JC homepage, which sucks because it slows down the login process. I believe this is a problem with my firewall but I'm no expert. Anyone knows how I could fix this problem?

Cool, thx Sundance!..Videotron here..and it works fine everywhere else??

This is what I get:
This webpage is not available
The webpage at http://www.joecanuck.com/joe/board/inde ... ion=unread (http://www.joecanuck.com/joe/board/index.php?action=unread) might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): Unknown error.
I can post that because I just got it again.

Same here.. but in french, eh! ::)
-
Just had a posting error. Otherwise been on for about half an hour without problems today and have been on regularly this past week also without problems.
-
The response I got from the hosting company asking them to read this thread.
hmmm could be so many things... on our end or there's. See if you can get any more details.
Hard to tell I looked at them. (error messages). Still could be anything.. coding issue, server slowness... etc. hmmm
-
I get timeouts and overall slow performance problems as well regularly - both at home and at work
-
Mike, ask them about the sequel data base. Are we sharing with other sites they are hosting?
-
You mean the MySQL database Dave.
I've already brought this to their attention and will be moving the site to a new host if it's not fixed this week.
-
That's sound like what I was mentioning a few weeks ago Mike. SQL, sequel, it all sounds the same when you are talking with your buddy about a server problem.
I think that should solve the issues.
Cool beans.
-
If the problem gets fixed after that, I say we each give one Timbit to The Mike as a token of gratitude
-
i'm giving you a timbit for the good idea.
-
It's strange because I have no problem at all... so far (my ISP is Videotron). I'm the one last time who raised a problem about a posting issue and Dodge822 told us about a problem between this site and IE9. Since, I'm using Firefox and no more problems at all. Firefox remember my login and password, log me in seamlessly and I never had a refresh problem. Mike was asking your ISP, may I also suggest you post your browser and version?
I'm using Firefox, 3.6.13.

How is the site for everyone lately anyway?....
-
The slowness has been reduced, I get the odd one now and then.
-
slow most times, but, the odd time is ok.
-
That's all I wanted to know.
Time to find us a new home - again.
-
i've not had any trouble lately.
-
i've not had any trouble lately.
..same here!
-
of course after i posted that, i had some mySQL error when trying to send a PM.
and now all text except links is underlined...?

same here everything is underlined now, but for it happened when i wastryin to update my want list.
-
Yep. TONS of new problems today. My inbox had a bunch of complaints.
I'm tired of this shit. I tell them about the issues, they fix it, then they come back.
I'm seriously swamped right now, but I do plan on moving the site to a new host. We've been with these guys over a year now, and nearly every month there's been complaints or problems.
So, no need for anymore updates as to what problems you guys are having.
The site's getting moved once I have some spare time - which should be next week (hopefully).
-
..I like seeing my replies underlined, it adds some punch to them! ;D
Seriously.. thanks for the update Mike!
-
Mike I know you plan on moving any way... but here is one of the error messages I get:
Database Error: MySQL server has gone away
File: /home/mrtoys/public_html/joe/board/Sources/Subs.php
Line: 631Database Error: MySQL server has gone away
File: /home/mrtoys/public_html/joe/board/Sources/Load.php

The underlined lines in IE is a coding issue.... I messed up "somewhere"... and I have no clue where. So.... you gotta live with it for now. It has nothing to do with the problems however...
Band - are you still getting those error messages?
-
Not again so far, but I will let you know.
-
that was the one i had the other. so far, it's not re-occured.
-

I had that problem today at work and yesterday night at home.
And I'm not able to properly modify any post.
-
And I'm not able to properly modify any post.
I have that problem too..
-
You mean, you don't see "MODIFY" as an option anymore?
-
You mean, you don't see "MODIFY" as an option anymore?
well im in suer if it is same for LJ, but i see modify, but when i go in to do modification, when i scroll down to what i need to modify, and click my post starts jumping around.
-
You mean, you don't see "MODIFY" as an option anymore?
Nope the modify option is still there.. the problem is I can't go back when I'm typing..I have to use the arrows on my keyboard! I can't "click" on the text anymore..that's frustrating when you want to quote someone..
-

That is a IE issue, not the site. I had the same problem, then I switched to mozilla and it works fine.
-
And the Underline is gone in MoZilla, too.

So true! I have IE at work, and Firefox at home. It's only with IE that I have the editing problem.
@ The Mike: I have exactly the same editing problems that Dodge is describing (No wonder we get along very well
)
-
now everything's centred!
-
I'm starting to wonder what the hell is going on here. The site has been up a long time, and "all of a sudden" problems are showing up?
I'm not doubting people - but seriously? What is going on?
People using chrome can't post on the board - obviously something within Chrome doesn't work with this site.
People on IE have everything underlined.....
Now Sundance has everything centered?
How about you all download Firefox and use that. I have no issues and it's what I'm using.
-

Firefox is very proud to be sponsor of Joecan.... Just joking.
Yes, Firefox is the way to go.
-
it's back to normal now.
-
it's back to normal now.
IE has the underlines.........
-
yes, i meant the centred had stopped.
-
Everything's fine w. the posting box now..
-
I'm not trying to (http://http://media.scout.com/media/forums/emoticons/145/deadhorse.gif) here but this is the other error message I get:
Service Temporarily Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Next week is this week that just started. Stay tuned.
-
So I am not going crazy as I see the underlines with the Opera web browser as well.
-
Yeah, I know... the site was down again...
I fixed it - again. ::)
-
The only trouble I'm experiencing is from my wife when I go to the sightings board and find I need to look for more Joe stuff! :o

That's a normal problem.. I'm experiencing the same thing here!
-
I've been experiecing about 3 times now a very odd situation where I would theoritically become logged out (without manually logging out), but it still shows that I've been an active user in the past 60 minutes. Usually when I sign out, my username doesn't show anymore at the bottom of the main forum page....anyone has an idea why this would happen?
-
I wanted to modify / update a post today and the "modify" button was nowhere to be seen :-\.....Snake!
-
I see it clear as day - right above your post.
-
I see it clear as day - right above your post.
I'm not seeing "modify" either........its not on any of the posts I have made.
Okay--CORRECTION: it is now on THIS post.
-
Modify was on the post I made just previous, after I submitted it, but in checking the post and then finding another one of mine in the forums ( which did not have Modify) and then returning to it, Modify is no longer present as an option. It is no longer present on my previous post.
-
i'm not seeing 'modify' on my old posts either.
-
or on that one...
-
Give them time, they have to program the Modify button back in when they change the style of the forum.
-
Band has it. Nothing to code in - just some changes to (apparently) make in the admin section.
I will get to it, but I have some other items I need to take care of first (Partly why you haven't seen me posting as much in the last few months).
I've got JoeCanuck.com, CanadianJoeCon.com and BountyHunterToys.com to take care of, along with another site I'm (eventually) going to finish up! ;)
-
Wrestling?
-
@ MIke: I'm half asleep and I meant to edit a post twice, but after the second attempt I realized that I wasn't pressing on modify, but instead on "quote". Sorry about this. And I checked and this mainly happened because the "modify" disappeared on me again. Sorry please don't take away a timbit from me, okay ;D it was an honest mistake. Just trying to make a joke out of this post while I'm here again.
-
I'm thinking either the image didn't load, or you were just VERY tired. The Modify problem is fixed.

TEST 3

The Modify problem is fixed.
No, I can modify but the changes are not saved :'( . I have this message: "You may not modify this post as the time limit for edits has passed."

Clear your cookies for this site and retry. I have a test account and it works on there.

i was able to modify that last post once, but i can't edit it again...

I clear my cookies everyday automatically. Edit your previous post 2 times. You will see. I saw this when trying to edit my want list... I use the same post for ever. It looks like there is a maximum number of time to edit a post.

Also, I don't have the same behaviour of the site when I click "Modify" or this: (http://www.joecanuck.com/jc/Themes/core/images/icons/modify_inline.gif)
When I click "Modify", I have this "You may not modify this post as the time limit for edits has passed."
When I click this (http://www.joecanuck.com/jc/Themes/core/images/icons/modify_inline.gif): I can edit my post but the changes are not saved.
-
i was able to modify that last post once, but i can't edit it again...
You can modify your post few minutes after making it. But if you wait too long you can't anymore. That is not convenient for want and sell lists...
TheMIKE: I used another computer today and I still can't edit my post. So, this has nothing to do with cookies...

@ Mike: Once again it's very close to bedtime for me and I'm starting to see double :). I'm trying to modify an old BST post for the first time this year. I can see now the Modify button but when I click on it, I now obtain a message that says:
"An Error Has Occurred!
You may not modify this post as the time limit for edits has passed."
Is this normal? Does this apply to 2012 posts and beyond as well?
EDIT: modify test
-
i cant edit my posts neither, i went in to fix my pictures in my customs, but it says i can't.

Same problem as everyone... we can't edit our post anymore like our want list... sad.
