Title: Canadian Chapter of Official Joe Club.

It's been brought to my attention that 'someone' is asking for peoples PERSONAL information saying that it's NEEDED to join the Canadian Chapter of the Official Joe Club.

Honestly, before you give a complete stranger your PERSONAL info folks, I'd STRONGLY suggest checking with the official club FIRST.

That's all. Just a suggest from the guy responsible for this site.

I hope this is not refering to me.  If it is I am sorry for the misunderstanding.  I am currently starting a local division of the Official G.I.Joe collectors' club. In Southern Ontario. I am not an agent of the club, I am a collector.  One of the requirements laid out by the Official club is that you must be a member.  Once you are a member they will notify me of your address and phone number.  Please I encourage anyone to contact them directly.  The person I have been corresponding with is angie@mastercollector.com

That's all I wanted.

While I commend you for taking on this GREAT task, I just wanted you to come out here and post some 'other' information or another contact person associated with it before asking folks for personal info. :-)

Consider this:

1. You're new here.
2. You have a Hotmail email addy.
3. Without offering up 'other' info, you just ask for peoples personal info.

Now you see why I was getting concerned? :-)
If you were doing a trade with me, I'd have warning bells going off!! :-)

Seriously, good luck with this, just try to keep us up to date in this forum.
I'll leave it as an Announcement for now. Let us know how it goes!

One thing, shouldn't the Canadians that ARE members just contact them at Mastercollector and then Mastercollector can forward teh info back to you?
It may set a few folks mind at ease with it. Or see if Mastercollector can give you an email addy to use instead of a hotmail one?

I appreciate your concern and I do apologize the only time I requested personal info was to verify that the person was an actual member of the collectors club or to send an Officail club reg. form. That was my mistake when all I needed was their name because the G.I. Joe collectors' club has provided me with a master list of Canadian members and if you are interested in becoming a member of the G.I.Joe Collectors' Club you can sign up at mastercollector.com  Please be aware that none of this information will ever be posted or shared and I will not ask for this form of information again.

No warning bells from me.  I met Bryce in Orlando at the convention.  Plus anybody's personal information can be dug up on Canada 411

That's only if you have a home phone under your name, you could be renting a room or the phone is under someone elses name.

So 411 doesn't always yield results
