I usually miss deals like this because I have my search preferences set to "seller ships to Canada/World-wide".  
In the past, when I've inquired about shipping to Canada from sellers that have Ships to: United States and I've gotten everything from "Okay" to "what part of 'ships to US only' do you not understand?"
Needless to say, I stopped asking.  If the seller doesn't bother to see potential sales outside their country, they don't get my loonies.

Yeah I just stick with Ebay.ca when searching.  The whole "won't ship outside the US" is a joke.  I find it is generally laziness, or ignorance, on the seller's part.  I understand not shipping outside your comfort zone when you have probelms, such as bad deals, but usually they just don't want to be bothered.  The funniest excuse to me is the "it's too much paperwork."  That always makes me laugh, like filling out a form that takes all of 2 minutes is too much.
