So far it does look pretty amazing.
The original is still pretty awesome though. I have been watching it again and I can't believe the storylines and frankly out-there stuff they put in the show. Plus, watching it again against Ghostbuster and GI Joe and Transformers, it really did have some pretty great animation.

I totally agree. However it also took me a good while to understand that these are now different times and I have come to accept that re-makes will never be the same as the original.
The only untouchable thing about the 80's IMO: the toys!!!!!!

Incidentally, why does every cartoon have an annoying character like that? I guess the really little kids like them...? Transformers - Wheelie, Ghostbusters - Slimer, Thundercats - Snarf, GI Joe - Duke ;D
Anyway, the cartoon looks awesome. I appreciate that Manga is the "hot trend" nowadays, so if that's what makes good business sense, I'm all for it. If they did it exactly like the old days, our 80's shows would get canned reeeeeal fast.

And of course, there's no way we'll avoid the retarded supposedly funny character. That's not limited to old school series, just think of Jar-Jar or Bumblebee in those new transformers movies.
Still, this makes me look forward to the new toys. If the thundercats are remade to modern standards, we could get some cool figures. I especially hope these enemy mechs come out well! (if they make them) Were did you see those 4" figures, Pdaat? I want to see them.
