Title: SNAKE
Post by: grunt 4 mvp on June 24, 2012, 09:25:16 PM
Anybody got an interest in the Black ROC SNAKES? Still sealed in package with figure.
I got too excited over the vintage mold SNAKE - I have 5 displayed now (different colours) and don't need to open any more...   ;)

The attachments and tree are slightly darker I believe. Also I'm sure the plastic feels different.
I think the molds were probably identicle.

Are you selling them or wanting to trade for them?

Either, I guess. Ideally sell but I could trade. PM me if you got an idea!

Also, since it's sorta related, anyone know what a complete vintage Blue SNAKE is worth?
(Not the CanCon ones, but the old Blue ones...)

Aside from the recolor and the stickers, no big differences. The only noticeable thing is the quality of the details on the plastic. I'm under the impression unless mistaken that Hasbro could've lost the mold so they recasted it from an original because it looks identical but the details stand out less and appear to be less sharp for some reason. It could be that it's just the color or an incidental result from nowadays' factories.

To give you an idea, I'd personally pay somewhere between 60 and 75 depending on the overall shape if I didn't have one that was only missing a front plate. The blueprint retains a good value of its own. If the toy and paperwork specimens are both in amazing condition (especially the case of unapplied stickers) then that is up to the secondary market to decide at this point. Although I've seen some amazing ones complete (w/ fc, w/o the box) command as high as 100USD five years ago or so.
