So much for the hiatus
http://www.mastercollector.com/ (http://www.mastercollector.com/)
And even the Brazilian line of GI JOE is expecting to re-launch later in the year.

None of this has sunk in yet.

I've seen the PICs of the joes coming through hasbro mail order.
WOW. Single pack. Traditional Artwork. Traditional box style for vehicles. It's a collector's dream come true!
The real question is, will we be able to get them in Canada?
-
Pics are up now at MasterCollector.com
Those of you attending the con...
In addition, the G.I. JOE 3 3/4? scale makes its return with a variety of new figures and vehicles and will be available on HasbroToyShop.com, along with select online retailers. Attendees at the annual International G.I. Joe Collector?s Convention, taking place in Minneapolis from June 24 ?26, will be given the first opportunity to order this G.I. Joe product at the Convention only.

Someone's wrists will be slit if these awesome figures aren't available to Canadian residents. And I'm not talking about my own .
These figures are spectacular as Teri Hatcher's! The comic pack is so boss with IMO a definitive Zartan with bow set and pouch, and Zarana's very hot with the new head. Rollbar's added chest pouches makes the figure better than any repaint of him. The art is friggin' gorgeous. And Scrap-Iron! It's like Hasbro's been listening to us or something. Weird.

I don't understand the MC website. Can someone please link directly to these new pics?

I am thrilled by this news, but at the same time I have a bad feeling that Canadians are only going to be teased by this news.
How many times can I bug freinds in the US to buy product for me, package it and then ship it to Canada, they say they aren't getting annoyed, but if this becomes the only way to get Joes, I am going to have fewer and fewer American friends.

Same boat. Brad must have days he wants to kill me as I tend to get alot of stuff at once.
-
Those look ok...but the figures follow the new stlye...at least the single packs...!!! I was hoping they would go back to the old style...!?!
I will get them for sure...(that is unless they are priced like the Star Wars retro stuff which are priced at 15 bucks a figure) !!
Also I am sure it will be a battle to get these in Canada. Someone was saying that they will only be available at a hasbro site...so that makes me think they will mail order anywhere...
...anywhere in the lower 48!
-
One thing that is funny that I forgot to emtion above is that those comic packs make some cool figures but look kinda silly when the cover stars all different figures than are in the pack....!!!!
-
it's says it will be available through a few select online retailers. that's means smalljoes, gijoehq, etc. so it's not like it will be any different for us canucks. we still have to pay for shipping.
it's great news.

This means a middle man and thus higher costs. I rather get them directly from the source.
-
Not being able to get joes directly to Canada is a fact of life, it's like snow and bad roads.
I'm just happy they're back, and I really couldn't ask for something better than the amazing new sculpt figures (which kick the but of the ARAH style IMO with the ARAH style packaging, pure perfection)
-
Honestly, I wished the JVC style figure was still retired. They have been a constant disappointment in terms of screwed up body proportions.
Only the comic pack does anything for me.
-

I agree. My theory. Hasbro is trying to be cheap as they don't want to create new body molds for figures that are missing. Perfect example. Issue 49. It has a V1 Destro, V1 Dr. Mindbender and Serpentor on the cover. WTF were Scrap Iron and Firefly figures made to go with Serpentor? Mindbender play a pivotal role in the creation of Serpentor. I assume Hasbro has lost the original molds for V1 Dr. Mindbender and V1 Destro.
-
I agree Pete. Look at Scrap Iron...the card is ok..but the figure is a wanna-be-80's-joe nothing special there....!!!
O'well as long as every collector/kid can get one I am happy.
I am sure something for the army builders will be unvailed..."buy them in bulk and loose for 3/4 the price" or something like that.
As for buying them from any other source other than Hasbro...no thanks...I am not sure any of the online guys would be fair about it...they have to make a living and I do not think Hasbro would let them be competitive at all............!
I have been really close to opening a U.S. bank account...and I have a U.S. address (non- P.O. Box) so I am sure I can get them from the source!!!!!!!!!!!!! :|
-
Glad the 3 3/4 are still in action! I really like those packaging!

Never judge a book by it's cover.
Read the issue and you'll see why those 3 are there. :-)

I'm lazy. Here's what I wrote at Joecustoms:
I'm optimistic Canada will be able to get these figures in at least one form as the MC group said in their most recent email that they will be carrying these figures and they ship to Canada. It might cost a few bucks more but at least we should have the option. I still really hope Hasbro ships internationally.
Speaking of G.I.Joe being international, anyone else notice that Scrap Irons card doesn't say "A real American Hero" under the GI Joe logo? Hard to say as Scrap Iron is a part of Cobra, but is it possible Hasbro is making Joe a little broader in it's market and not targeting just the U.S?
Other random thoughts are I think the Battle armor Cobra Commander will probably have the Crimson Guard Head under that helmet as it is Fred. That way they don't need to make a new head mold and we, the collector market and target audience (this time) understand that.
Also, please Hasbro, give me a new sculpt of Buzzer now.I was really annoyed when the line was sacked and I had Ripper and Torch but no Buzzer. It's just not right to have 2 out of 3. GIVE ME MY BUZZER dagnamit! Please???

I think the few 'select' online sources will most likely be KBtoys.com and TRU.com
Hasbro has NEVER shown any of the smaller accounts (smalljoes, gijoehq, myself, etc) ANY respect when it comes to the toys - why start now?
Mike
-
Wow. G.I. Joe is back? I didn't see this coming.
Because what we really need is another Zartan, another Zarana, another Scrap Iron and the 2nd repaint of a Hummer.
Let's see some new sculpts of new characters... Wave 1 of Spy Troops had so much promise. What happened?

Again, the MC group will have these and while yes they are the official fan club store, I always thought the on line store they have similar to places like smalljoes etc...
-
Read the issue and you'll see why those 3 are there.
I read all the Joe issues when they came out...and again, at least twice, since then...I am talking about how these look on display...you would think that the cover would determine whos in the issue.
No matter I opened all mine anyways!

I agree you can get no respect...lol...!!!
I think the on-line retaliers will be stores like KB and TRU as they will have to be accountable for their actions. I get tiered of seeing posts on all the Joe boards about how the little guys ripped them off and so on and so forth...smalljoes especially...!!!!
-
If the only new ARAH molds we get are comic three packs, I'll be satisfied. Sure, maybe we'll still only get one Horrorshow-obscure figure for every fifty Snake-Eyeses, but they've done a fantastic job of capturing the looks of these figures on the page with the parts they have.

I'm not too sure. Remember Wave 5 of the ARAH? Only a few online retailers got them, and KB and TRU were not amoung them.

I don't mind the continuation of the comic packs. Go for it. They're awesome.
But... the new Scrap-Iron? It's a cool figure, but why is he Scrap Iron? Why not give us new characters? I bought the Coil Crusher/Wild Bill pack because I wanted a Cobra villain who wasn't a generic troop.

At least we're getting more stuff.
Most likely though scrap iron is there because they already had the mold produced before this hiatus stuff even came to the table.

But why does he have to be Scrap Iron? Why can't he be a new character named "Shrapnel" or something?
I think there's a place for nostalgia, but we've been sucking on nostalgia since the 1997 stuff. I really enjoy the new sculpts and new characters. We need more Blackouts and Barrell Rolls and fewer existing characters.
-
they should do a Barrel Roll, Black out and Bomb strike three pack :)
We need a Scalpel in surgical suit or with a lab coat.
-
Or maybe they just make up some new characters?
-
I contacted Habro US and asked if Canadians would be able to order these figures. They gave me a very polite 'no'. They will only ship to US addresses. Unless Habro Canada decides to do a mail order site of their own we are out of luck.
crap.
-
Well what about U.S. post office boxes?
I have a land address but its out of the way...but the post office box is real close...where did you send the e-mail to??????????
-
I'm sure US post boxes would be fine.
I sent the email to their consumer affairs department at
hasbro@custhelp.com
-
You should have given them a polite, "Hell, you better."
Oh well, good thing I have a friend that recently moved to Buffalo, but comes back home once or twice a month. He's my ticket to getting some of those mail order Stormys.
-
Somebody asked at this Star Wars Celebration in the States:
Shipping to Canada - not at first. Hopefully in 06.
Which means we are acrewed until further notice.
-
The reason I ask about P.O.Boxes is I could not get Agent Faces or Stormy sent there...................at all...:(...!!!!!!!!!!
So even some U.S. people get screwed by Hasblow.....!
Now I hope everything works out at my other address...it is a family cabin...I can not see why it would not.........so here hoping......!!!!!!!
-
Gah. What fools. It's a very, very simple process to include Canada in your shipping domain as a registered US business, especially if you enforce USD payment and COD the taxes to the recipient. We deal with this all the time at work..when we give the US company the info, they always comeback 'wow...that was easy.'
Thank goodness for friends in the US also addicted to t3h plastic crack.
-
Well that sucks! Still MC group did say they were going to carry these as well. Might cost a few more bucks, but it's something.
-
i am in fact one of the online retailers that will be getting this stuff. i have no idea on price point as of yet but you can be sure i will be as competetive with hasbro as i can.
the thing to remember here is they will not ship to canada or to po boxes or to any other foreign country for 1 simple reason.
it is impossible to track the item sent and therefore impossible to protect themselves from possible fraudulent claims (which has happened to me from foreign customers before...and there was nothing i could do about it)
so thats why they do it that way.
i am excited about the new stuff and cant wait to see what else we have in store!
-
glad to know you'll have the new stuff! Dealing with you is always a pleasure!

Good to hear your onboard. So far thats you and Mastercollector that have been confirmed and that is good enough for me.
But I have to ask, the process of doing pre-orders on GIJOEHQ.com finished? Hasbro has dropped the ball a number of times in regards to this, which resulted in major headaches.
-
no the process is still in place. i talked to billy about that same issue and he told me that product would be produced to meet demand. no overselling would occur
so if i order 100 cases ill get them all
-
At this this is good to know. Unlike before when Hasbro bent over backwards when Wally World wanted more and basically stomped on the little guy.
