General Joe Talk / comic packs
« on: August 30, 2005, 08:15:55 AM »
are the Dreadnok/Scarlett comics packs available now/very near future?  I'm thinning out my collection a bit so I'm wondering if I should trade off my Buzzer/Ripper/Scarlett figs just yet.

Do the comic pack Dreadnoks come with their original weapons?

Are they out...??? Well I know the Artic Pack is I just found it. But what about the Imperial Procession? It was suppose to be out after the Artic pack...and I see some people are finding it...but these are the same guys who can not find the Artic Pack. Any chance they are being released but in different distribution areas?

I got both the arctic and the imperial from Realboss (thanks again!)

I gave a Crimson-addicted co-worker the Imperial set and kept the winter ops for myself.  This 6-pack is strange - it looks bad in pics and even sorta iffy in the pack, but I find myself really enjoying the figures out of the package.  The Joes look like civilian downhill skiiers with combat gear, perhaps paintball fans.  Somehow it makes the set good.  I can't explain it    This keeps my interest in future 6-packs for sure

Ontario / good haul

it was my first toy collectors expo and while it seemed a little small to me, it was still fun to go.  I got a Cobra Infantry 6-pack (which I have wanted for over a year now), an 83 Gung Ho, 84 Spirit, Buzzer, Torch, a carded Chinese Lifeline, a Wave Crusher, 2002 Destro's Dominator, and a boxed Man-O-War (these last 3 I got for $5 a piece from that table in the middle of the room, across from the Fort Max guy).  I also got a Predaking reissue and the red Night Adder.  Basically I spent a month's rent in less than an hour and I'm hoping my food supply lasts til Friday

Items Wanted / I've got both

opened and collecting dust.  Both have been transformed a few times.  Boxes are around here somewhere - I think Unicron's insert packaging might be gone.  If you're interested, what do you have to trade?  I'm currently looking for a boxed 2001 Wave Crushermand a carded Teela & Ram Man from the new MOTU line.

I'm looking for a 2001 Wave Crusher, preferably unopened.  I have a TFC-10 Soundwave reissue for trade (opened and stickers applied; still mint and all packaging complete).

Off Topic / USA

I bought Swindle, Windcharger and Ravage in Buffalo yesterday.  I really doubt we'll see past Meister in Canada.  In fact, I missed Meister anyway when the one-box-per-store shipment arrived 6 months ago.  Managed to get Tracks then though, which was cool.  Even in the US the earlier waves are clogging the aisles.  It's too bad, really - the later Alternators are pretty cool despite being mostly repaints.

General Joe Talk / hmm
« on: February 20, 2005, 11:22:55 AM »
Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I'm kinda glad the 3 3/4" stuff will be finished for an undetermined period of time.  I bought a second shelving unit for my collection and it's still not enough!  I have too many toys...and I haven't even bought like 10% of what's been available 3 3/4"-wise since Joes have become available at retail again in 1997.  I guess there's some collectors here who collect for completion (or near completion)...me, I'm finding that the more figures I get, the less I care about them.  When I was a kid I had 4 Joes.  That's it!  And I played with them like crazy.  Loved 'em to death!  Now I have over 150 and they collect dust.

Don't get me wrong, I am still a big 3 3/4" Joefan.  I don't think I'll ever get really sick of collecting/displaying/reading comics/watching 'toon episodes.  But being forced by Hasbro to stop buying their plastic army figures for a few years isn't all bad

Ontario / Alternators
« on: February 15, 2005, 08:49:45 AM »
I hope some new Alternators show up soon.  I already got what I wanted from VvV wave 5 & 6 from Realboss but some Joe vehicles would be nice.  I wouldn't mind a Night Adder.
