It's Sabu, Matt Mozgiel's buddy!  How's it going?  Does JP still work with you on the Nature's Guard project?

Thanks to Realboss I have comic packs 6, 7 & 8.  These are pretty amazing and really show what the packs are all about (characters never before released, great headsculpts, specific-issue uniforms etc).

One thing I am interested in knowing: are Short-Fuze's legs a new mold?  at least the lower part anyway.  I compared him to my 97 SF and the lower legs on the new one are longer.  Also, the waistpiece...I know it is apparantly the OG one from 82 but...I remember them being even more bulky.  Like ugly, out-of-place bulky.  I wonder if Hasbro actually resculpted the lower half of SF's body to emulate the 82/83 look?  The left leg's thigh pouch is slightly different as well, with a bit more detail.  Even the bootsoles are different.  Hell, even the upper arms might be new...I don't recall any of the 83 retro-fits having the arm pouches on the side.  Unless I'm way off here, I think Hasbro was shooting for a strict '82 look (but with swivel arms :).

I have the 1998 Vypra with accessories.  I'm interested in the H.I.S.S. III.

Mike, what are you planning on selling Wave 7 (and beyond hopefully...) for?

Anyone want to order me one of these?  I've got a bunch of battle points sitting around doing nothing. :D

Apparently Meister has been spotted as well in Canada although I only ever saw Tracks (which is an amazing toy BTW, 2nd best Alt yet after Silverstreak IMO).  The US has had Grimlock, Swindle and I believe Windcharger released as well.  I kinda don't have high hopes for finding any of this stuff soon as the aisles at most stores are still clogged with the Smokescreen/Sideswipe assortments from about 11 months ago.

General Joe Talk / dying a slow death since 2000

when TRAHC figures started showing up in Canada it was great, despite the generic packaging.  the fact we only got wave 1 & 2 was the harbinger of doom...no hiss 3, no wave crusher (really wanted this as the SHARC was a childhood favourite) etc.  I was surprised to see the Night Rhino show up.  actually maybe 1997 was the start of it all when I had to make a trade for the stars n stripes box (no Canadian appearance due to the huge US flag)

regarding packaging...hasbro started putting tri-lingual packaging on their TFs in 2001 with the RiD line (english, french, spanish).   I wonder what the reason is for not ddoing this with Joes?

also, Canadian TRU has carried english-only TFs since at least 2002 with the TRU-exclusive G1 reissues (although I did see a few "Euro" packages of the 1st wave {OP, Magnus, Rodimus} about a year later) so I wonder why we can't get english-only TRU-exclusive VvV 6-packs

anyway the whole situation is odd...it seems Canadian distribution could be way better and is crappy for no real reason, but who knows how these toy companies really work.  Maybe they've had numerous board meetings and determined it would be in the company's best interest to not get our money  8)

General Joe Talk / Hannibal?

Is hannibal the little black-haired kid?

It'd be kinda cool to get this...remember Billy from issue 10 of the marvel run (b4 we [and maybe even Hama] knew he was billy)?  This could be a useful figure

General Joe Talk / Snow Job
« on: December 16, 2004, 04:28:17 PM »
While I could probably come up with some others that I've seen in my 8 years of collecting, I'll choose one from my childhood - Snow Job!

I still remember getting him for my birthday in April...don't know if it was 83 or 84 (not sure if he would've been available as early as April 1983 in Canada).  That was the month when the snow would always be completely gone out west, so I spent many, many weeks playing with Snow Job in the huge sandbox out back.  Snow Job has such cool accessories and really exemplified the "snap-on, stay-on" feature that all Joe accessories claimed to have - it still impresses me today that he can either wear his skiing gear bundled up on his backpack, or break it out to chase down Cobras and either way looks great.  And, let's not forget that Snow Job's gun is so good that it was issued to almost every Joe in the 'toon  The '97 repaint sucked plastic-wise but the 2000/1 Whiteout is one of my favourite repaint figures.

Grrrr.  Why can't I find these figures?  I really don't want to drive to St. C. this weekend!

if you ARE driving to St Catharines this weekend, I'll let you know saturday and/or sunday morning if it's worth the trip.  I doubt they will sell out, the pegs were stuffed, but you never know...
