Simple and to the point. Looks great.

My son is looking forward to seeing you again.

Thanks, should be fun !

You need a beard!! Even if it's a fake one. :-)

I had one up until about 2 hours before the photo, it wasn't going to be suitable for the outfit nor for  just having one either, I think it'll pass muster regardless :)

I found my grappling hook I was going to use for Beach Head and will rig it up to look like the anchor that ShipWreck has.

Alternate costume.

Yes I am bringing 2 after all, will also allow me to change out into something more mundane for the travels to and from.

It looks wicked.

Thanks :)

Here's an added touch - an attempt to make the "75" Badge/Patch on the left sleeve (Colour is a bit off in an attempt to match the shirt for outfit).

Hey, that was a really good promo for both the event this weekend and the genre itself, nicely done!

Here's a recording of it

Cool! :)

I've got the live streaming up now and if all goes well with Audacity it will be recorded and shared for those who missed it.

Here is another test shot, keep in mind that the colour of the mask and shirt matched better under normal light.  There is a different shirt that's a brighter green at that shop and the folks there said I could exchange - but I kinda like this.

Thoughts?

I know of a few people who were affected by this - a couple friends of mine (and at one point me too) were going to go to the Detroit show.

Sci Fi convention organizer faces theft, fraud charges

NASHUA ? A Milford man who sought to organize a series of Science Fiction conventions has been indicted on felony theft and consumer fraud charges.

Shane Senter, 36, of 53 High St., Milford, is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Hillsborough County Superior Court on two counts of theft and four counts of unfair or deceptive business practices.

Neither Senter nor the prosecutor, Senior Assistant Attorney General Constance Stratton, could be reached this morning for comment.

Senter was the owner of JumpCon LLC, and tried to organize a series of science fiction conventions with celebrity guests, including actors from various Star Trek series.

On July 15, 2008, Senter posted a message on his Web site, www.jumpcon.net, apologizing for the cancellation of a convention in Boston, Mass.

?I regret to announce the cancellation of our Boston event,? he wrote ?Many factors that needed to come together to make it happen simply did not. We tried everything humanly possible and were unable to overcome the insurmountable obstacles. This is not to say that I don't take the blame myself, I do. I wanted to see this succeed so badly that I was blinded to some warning signs that should have been obvious. If I have learned anything through this process it's that running a convention business is far more intricate and fraught with peril than it seemed at the outset.?

I found a nice light long sleeve shirt that would do well for every day wear as well at a different used clothing shop that had gone unchecked.

The shirt more closely matches the mask than anything else yet and although the top part won't be as green as that seen in the figure, it should satisfy the fans who prefer green over black.

Photos later, I think y'all will be impressed ... Once that's done I will work on recreating the badge on his arm.

Green and Green is still better than Black and Green in my opinion. ;-)

True that - I had another thought, what about a matching top to the pants instead, either MARPAT or the previously displayed woodland BDU?

I know it will be hard to get a red beret but if you have like a red toque or something that you can fold up and put on your vest shoulder, maybe get a black band that you can wrap around to attach it.  Not sure how good it will look but just curious if something like that would work.

I was thinking about working around something like that as well - still looking :)

The Green Jacket would look MILES better than the black one, just sayin.

Even if the mask doesn't match that jacket?

47
Well if you're buying it for yourself and just loaning it out to me for the day to get it back all sweaty, cool and thanks :)  However if it's not a light material (like the old thin C.F. top shirt/jacket I took a pic of earlier) then no thanks, gotta be able to breathe ;)

I have to go with the others with the green shirt, it totally adds another level.  Dont break the bank on it though, just goto winners or a thrift store

That's exactly what I've been up to, and considering I'm at least 6'4" with considerable amounts of flesh on my frame it's difficult to find something adequate even for normal wear and tear at an agreeable price.

At this rate the only other possible option is an old C.F. Green Jacket - but I like the ACU design shirt as it tucks into the pants better.
