Found Zartan, infantry, Redeco Roadblock and Scarlett at my local Walmart (Barrhaven).

Took the Infantry, but Roadblock/Scarlett weren't in the system.  Guess that comes from the new individual SKU system Walmart is using.

I think the idea for retro was a good one, but the execution is what was/is lacking.

I like the packaging, well the boxes.  I can appreciate the cards, but I don't particularly care for them.

As I said I find the figures to feel cheap, probably from the plastics they used.  Also the price is stretched way too far now.  I get that it is 2021, and that everything costs more, but +$20, after tax, for a single figure is too much.  You can get most of the 25th/ME figures for less than that on the secondary market.

Also I think it was a missed opportunity to reissue the ARAH molds.  I know that most of the molds are gone, but with other lines doing the retro reissue (TMNT, He-Man, Transformers) thing, I think more people would have been interested in near identical reissues.  Especially since the ARAH line has such limited reissues, at least when it comes to figures, over the past 20 years.  And compared to other toy lines.

Well I think it is high time some discussion started up again on the board.  Don't know if anyone is still around, but here goes.

I haven't seen much in store from this line so I can't speak to it very much.  Figure wise I am not impressed.  They look good, but the quality is pretty bad.  At least based on the Cobra Pilot I opened.  It felt "gummy" and cheap like it would be something you would find in a dollar store.

The Fang is the only vehicle I picked up since I never found the AWE or HISS.  The box art is great, and it definitely feels like a "retro" throwback.  However I find the updates to the Fang completely unnecessary, and frankly detract from the vehicle.

I get that it was done to add a bit of heft/weight to the vehicle, but it comes across as unnecessary fiddling.  I'm sure the AWE and HISS are fine since they seem to be simple re-releases.

After a bit of an underwhelming start, the line is really coming on strong.  Excluding the stupid Cobra Island exclusives, I have been loving the newer releases.  Zartan and Cobra Infantry are outstanding.  Destro is amazing!  I can't wait for more reveals on April 9th during the Hasbro FanFest.

I got my preorder Zartan and Cobra Infantry from EB Games this week.  Man they are both big steps up in quality and sculpt from wave 1 of Classified.

Also saw 2 Retro Cobra Fangs at my local Walmart today (Barrhaven).  I'm not a big fan of the new Fang, and the figure is terrible.

I haven't touched my collection in a couple years outside of moving the boxes.  I have a bunch of ARAH vehicles and a bit of ME figures.  However it is mostly stuff I never got around to selling when I was reducing my collection.

The new 6" has got my attention, so I'll probably get into Joe moreso again.  The Retro line is cool, but also disappointing because it is just ME figures updated rather than a true full retro line.  Still cool to see the old style boxes/cards again though.

As for the board.  Well let's be honest, just like Thundercats, the fandom has shrunk greatly.  Especially in Canada.  I'm always surprised when I come back here that the site is still active.  It cost money to keep this board going and I don't see the owners post pretty much at all.  With the new movie and toys it does give us a boost for the next 2 years.  Hopefully there will be some new blood drawn into the community.  But yeah the heyday of Joecanuck, canjoecon, and the online mag are long over.

So it looks like general retail for the Classified line, not counting exclusives.

Walmart has the AWE Striker listed, but out of stock so I am guessing they will get the Retro line in due time.

Cobra Island stuff I think will be coming to TRU up here, but I'm not 100% sure.

Jada Toys is going to be doing two different size classes of diecast vehicles!!!!!

The larger scale will start with a HISS and VAMP.

The smaller "Nano" scale will have 3 waves to start.

Wave 1-. HISS, VAMP (pic is MK1) but they showed MK2 & Snowcat

Wave 2- Mobat, Stinger and Skystriker

Wave 3- Night Raven, Silver Mirage motorcycle and Dragonfly.

Can't wait!!!  Smaller scale means more room to display.  Hopefully this line does well.

I'm hoping they are actually $30 and not more.  Especially given the current pricing at Walmart of the Star Wars Black Series.

From the first pics I like all 4.  Snake Eyes is great.  Roadblock is nice, but not a fan of the gold on his legs, or his sci-fi gun.  Scarlett looks awesome, especially her face.  Duke looks good, but conversely I don't like his head sculpt.

Overall it definitely looks like the line will take a more updated style, think fortnite/Overwatch.  Hopefully it does well and they can introduce "classic" ARAH looks down the line.

6 inch is on the way!!!!!!

So based on reporting from Hisstank we are getting a 6 inch line this year.

The good(?) news is that Walmart is carrying them in the States, so hopefully here as well.  The bad news is that the price point is $19.87(US) meaning we can expect Star Wars Black Series pricing up here.  So minimum $30, but maybe even $35 each.  OUCH!!

Can't wait to see what they look like at Toyfair this year.  I know I say to myself they will be too expensive, bit honestly I will cave on some for sure.   As long as they are based on the ARAH style.

So over on Hisstank they are reporting that artist Furio Tedeschi is working as a freelance production artist for their new toyline.

Obviously with a new movie in production a toyline was all but inevitable.  However it is nice to have some hard evidence.  Can't wait to see what they come up with.  Hopefully the vehicles are a better offering than last two me.

Either way it will be great to see Joe on the shelves once again.

Hello all!  Or should I say 2!

Wow I haven't checked in for a long time.  I can believe the site is still up and running.  Thankfully there seems to be some movement with a new movie.  Hopefully that means 2020 will start at least a mini revival.

I will check in more often.......I hope.

Yo Joe!!

Happy New Year to one and all!!!

Here's hoping there is some better news this year regarding GI Joe.  Though the Snake Eyes movie seems to be moving ahead, so there is that to watch for sooner or later.
