Hounding the local retailer won't help. It's the suits in the offices that decide what the chains will get.
In a nutshell, it's the suits, yes, based on previous G.I. Joe sales of similar items (one offs or special runs or wide releases). But, you missed the point. Hasbro sent these photos to you to post and start a buzz. They want that buzz to reach the retailer who will convey how many inquiries they've had for these items that may or may not be available in Canada. They'll monitor boards like this or other sites where bloggers will talk up the products. That doesn't smell right to me at all.
Hasbro are no dummies. They don't want fans of the line to call Buyers or Marketing Directors up in head office. They want to make us hungry for the product; create the need. So, I say, spend some dollars on advertising. Put their money where their toy is. And, yes, I know they will spend millions on advertising the line, I mean they should spend more.
