Mike, I was more looking for a place to register the Website than hosting it. My Videotron account give me some free space (ad free). It's a tiny Website, so I didn't need too much space.
Host it at GoDaddy. The tools they have and the free stuff is much better than Videotron. Especially if you're "new" to all this.
THIS message board - is a free feature of GoDaddy.com, for starters. Now, you could set one up on Videotron - but you may have problems.
I'd check into what GoDaddy has first for you to use. The hosting is free with the ad - so use it, test it, etc. If you like it, pay the $5.00 a month and drop the ads.
