General Joe Talk / Re: GI Joe: Snake Eyes

Hopefully once a trailer is released, I may get excited about this. Otherwise, I am not expecting much with Lorenzo still involved in the GI JOE movies.

Most Joe talk happens on social media for me knowadays. Maybe it's just me but GI Joe isn't as high on my priorities as it used to be.

Facebook has killed most message board traffic out there.

I am hardly active on social media any more.  Facebook and all that political crap on it has turned me off.

The only GI JOE stuff I have interest in right now is some of the customs that have been made.  Otherwise, Hasbro decision to shelve the product as made it easy for me to collect other toys.

Against my better judgment, I have re-activated registrations.

I guess I will find out soon if Russian troll factory is still going.

Disabled registrations again.  Tired of dealing of the Russian troll factory.   Just like your leader, you have tiny dicks.

***Press Release:
The adventure continues to evolve in Rank & File ? A Guide to Third-Generation 4? G.I. Joe Action Figures!
After a brief hiatus in 2006 that allowed G.I. Joe to flourish in other areas, G.I. Joe:  A Real American Hero went in a new stylistic direction that is still predominately used today!  Not only did fans get to revisit some of their most cherished icons within the G.I. Joe mythos, they were also introduced to new characters that are now known and loved.
The Rank & File guide volume 3 displays every G.I. Joe action figure produced between the Celebrating 30 Years of A Real American Hero / Renegades, Retaliation, 50, and Basic G.I. Joe Asst. series, complete with every accessory and variation produced.   Not only are the accessories shown, they were carefully cataloged in an upcoming volume that will guarantee the proper shade of accessory goes to the appropriate action figure. To top it off, every vehicle and playset released in the 4" era is documented and every easily removable piece is shown individually photographed ?ensuring collector completion.
This full color, forty-eight page resource manual beautifully illustrates the four series' 148 action figures, twenty-two vehicles and every accessory, including all known variations. Not only is every accessory present and accounted for, they have each been assigned a unique number and identified throughout the resource guide.  Each action figure was carefully examined between its initial run and any further re-releases to ensure accurate samples are clearly and concisely presented, perfect for the collector who is identifying individual action figures or sorting through unorganized lots.
Whether you are a seasoned or rejuvenated collector, enthusiast, or toy vendor, the Rank & File series is the decisive compilation for G.I. Joe action figures, vehicles, and playsets produced from 2007 to today.    Let the Rank & File guides serve as a reference for completion or a scrapbook to the next big turning point of G.I. Joe:  A Real American Hero.

General Joe Talk / Re: 2017 Con Set Battle force 2000

No kidding, with exchange/ shipping/insurance it's like $650 Canadian and that's not taking into consideration duty and taxes. I may just cherry pick like I did last year.

This is where the club lost me a few years.  The sets are grossly overpriced.

I thought he got out of the business.

"Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in."

He did.  Sold his stuff to the a new guy to continue it.

The \'Show\' Room / Re: my room

Threaded toggles or toggle bolts work pretty well for direct drywall mounting unless the drywall ever gets wet.

We use lots of toggle bolts here at work for shelving but you need to make sure to stay under the rated weight.

I have used them. Still didn't do the job to my liking as the floating shelves did sag after a year.  It wasn't much of a decline but it was noticeable to me.

So I took them down, re-enforced the back of the drywall with pieces of 2x4 (I had access from the back of my unfinished furnace room) and reinstalled the shelves.  My shelves have not moved at all, and this includes a 2 year old who likes to slam my furnace door shut in the basement.
