you betcha it qualifies!  i had the bivouac, the cobra bunker, and the cobra rifle range and those, along with some various star wars components were converted into headquarters and bases.

although i did also have the cardboard cobra missile playset, it lasted about a year before it fell apart....allthough i still have the filecard holder it came with...

I just remembered.
I got the Cobra Bunker last Christmas.
That's the only playset I have, so it pretty much defaults itself as my favorite one.

I totally agree. If it were thrice the size AND had an extra level, it would kick butt as a playset.

Pick up one of those little plastic shelving units from walmart for 25 bucks and paint the supports red. The plastic is even the right color.

Put the platform on top, and there you go. My buddy Devilfish is already doing one, but he's lazy.

I never had any GI Joe playsets for various reasons - space but mainly cost.  

The best GI Joe playset ever could be made in the following manner:

1.  Move two couches to creat an open area
2.  Block off the entrance with a blanket and ruffle it to simulate terrain
3.  Mount some improvised cannons
4.  Station sentries around in a random and completely nonsensical way
5.  Enjoy your childhood using your figures, two vehicles and imagination

Terror Drome and the Mobile Command Center are my favs the Flagg close behind.  I also had a wooden castle my mom bought at a craft show-I mounted it on a coffee table draped with a grey blanket and put some blocks under the blacket to make rough rock formations-build a ramp up to the top and created my own Castle Destro.
My brother has the castle now for his kids-and sadly the Terror Drome and a life size inflatable Spider-man(sorry not that type of inflatable doll)were destroyed by my cousins when I was at College-thanks mom.  Still have yet to replace the Drome

I never had any of the playsets, so I just used the turret from the Maggot (which doubled as the turret for the Moray).  It was simple, yet effective.  For bases, I would just use tables, and bookcases for buildings (sliding books forward to make walls and rooms for characters/gear was so cool, my Pit was awesome!).  You know, improvised crap like that.  But hey, it worked! :thumbsup:
