Anyone have any thoughts?

It annoys me that they'd take a fan based figure and make money off it.

Other than that.... I'm just going to 'watch' for now.
I thought Aly and Bekker were better people than this.

It's one thing to redo a figure that a MAJOR company did - but to make one for a small meet and purposely make money from it - that just screams all types of wrong to me.

1) It's just a "n00b" on the site requesting for gtg to copy him. Nothing official yet

2) Yeah, I'd be pissed. In once sense, it's flattering. In another sense, it's flat out wanting to profit on the Black Ice character created here. The Black Ice character is a JoeCanuck copyright though.. so I don't see how they can get away will calling it that.

It's bad enought they are casting undproduced 1995 figure parts.  It's a part of the GI JOE 3 3/4 history that should be left alone.  Shane and I share the same Tide soapbox on that issue. 

If the bastardization of Black Ice happens, this would be a new low.  Come up with your own fucking ideas.

Wow. When I saw Aly in New Orleans, even without talking to him his fat face had a smugness that made me feel superior to him. But if he went through with this, I'd seriously hurt him the next time I saw him.

Honestly, does anyone there see the difference in making casts of a Hasbro item vs. a Fan Made item that isn't an official item?
DO they get the meaning of the Joe Meets? JoeCanuck? BlackIce? Do they care?

Jay, I have to hand it to you - I think you're putting Aly on the spot with your latest post.

If they go ahead with this, then next years figure (or one of them) will have Aly made parts. I'll buy one, and get them all casted by someone else.  That's fair isn't it? They steal our shit, we steal it back?.

Have to agree with Pete on his quote. They obviously are'nt creative enough to come up with their own ideas.
This is just dis-respectful to the Joe Canuck team creators. What about all the art work you have of black ice? I hope that is protected.

The artwork is the work of Loop. He OWNS those rights as far as I'm concerned.
He did the work for free as a courtesy to the meet - I have paid him for his work in the past, and would of done so for the Black Ice art as well.

If they were to use it (which I can't see them using it at all), Loop would have every right in the world to be compensated. I'm taking cash. Money. Moolah. Greenbacks.... and lots of it. ;-)

I just saw Mikes reply on goodtogocustoms and hopefully that will deter this from ever happening.  Like others have said it is wrong on so many levels.  And to use the excuse of a fast buck(profitability) for a good reason to do it----GIVE YOUR HEAD A SHAKE!!!
