A really cool find today.
« on: March 30, 2008, 07:07:10 PM »

I went to the local toy show in Kitchener today to drop off some flyers for the Canadian joe meet next month and take a look around and get myself hyped up for toy shows. There was a lot of the same people but today I came across a guy I never meet before. He had some 12 inch Joes and Johnny West figures. The thing that caught my eye was a total piece piece of beauty. It was the 12 inch adventure team training tower. This sucker is about 3 feet tall, orange, silver and black. My brother had it when we were kids and we both played with it all the time.

It was almost all there, and the few pieces that were missing are pretty minor. The best thing is it was only $30.00. I didn't know I even wanted to own this thing until I saw it again.

Well, it's mine now and I freaking love it.

Awesome. I love when I 'rediscover' things and get that nostalgic feeling.
Great find, great price.

Plus now you get the added joy of hunting for the missing pieces...  :)

Now if they would only relaunch Micronauts (although I may be showing my age).

Actually I think that they did.  I'm positive that I've seen some in the local comic shop in St. Catharines

Aw. Nice when the old guy can remember anything much less his childhood.

Kidding.

But seriously man, where are you going to put it?

And tonight I customized my first 12" figure. Mor, you won me over, in spite of me...

You young whipper snapper! Where's a fist shaking icon when you need one?

For now I set it up next to my computer. I should take a picture of it. I just love looking at this thing.

BTW, they did re-release Micronauts a few years ago. I have one. He also sits near my computer.

They didn't go over that well I don't think. Check ebay.

I loved Watch Tower - my cousin who was 2 or 3 years older than me had this as well as a 12" Scale Jeep and Tank.  Many fun winter Saturdays were spent playing with them.
Funny you should mention micronaughts he aslo had the City, that was basically a series of plastic tubes, and a fan that propelled the Micronaughts around the tubes in a special kind of sled.

Those along with his original Indiana Jones figures, I was always envious of his "cooler" toys.

Weeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can also see the super cool 6 wheel yellow thing that I had as a kid at last years Canadian joe meet for a mere $15.00. That was also a deal! It was part of the search for the mummy set (or something like that).

Yeah, I joined the band wagon on that a while ago. They are counter sunk into the wall. I went as far as to rip down all the panels and put up dry wall so they would look super cool. I'm happy with them.
