[Stealth Viper]

As expected, now that we're only a few weeks away from the movie's launch, early reviews are starting to trickle in.

The overall verdict so far? Not perfect, but a lot of fun (better than most were expecting). That's great news.

Interesting reviews.  One review is way over the top in how good the movie is, how great the characters are and how much it reminded them of their childhood Joes.

The others are better reviews with actual examples of how/why something worked or didn't.  I came away from reading those reviews with a sense that the movie will be pretty good.  I'm even starting to hope that it is the sleeper hit of the summer.  Obviously nowhere near as big as ROTF or HP, but hopefully at least $200 million domestically.

I'm feeling a little bit smug right now--but not to spite in the face of others.
I just had a feeling for a long time that this movie would turn out okay.

When I started seeing the cast/costume pics, and then the trailers.......the notion grew that this film would have some legs, that it would be "GIJOE" in enough of a light to satisfy at least myself. That's all i can ask for.

I've not read the reviews, aside from a cursory glance at their opening paragraphs, so as to avoid spoilers--but the positive nature assures me this will probably be the big summer movie for me.
