Do you use other toy line in your GI Joe Universe?
« on: November 13, 2010, 02:30:32 PM »

Like some of you already saw in another post, I really like the Fisher-Price Adventure People toy line. One of my favorite (even more than the Sud below - 2nd pic) is the GroundShaker (still good match for the Adventure Team)!!

This Submarine and the helicopter that goes with it are just great for any AT collector...

Can you imagine Payload in this?

For Shipwreck and Torpedo:

Give more speed to Wild Weasel:

I can see people using StarWars toys... do you have other?

I know I have one generic vehicles that were available in the early 80's. They were sci-fi theme vehicles with no drivers and were especially designed to fit any 3.75 inch figures. There was a low-crawl vehicle with a cockpit for 3 figures, a APC (which I have), a cool jet (that reminds me of the BattleForce 2000 jet), and probably more.

I'll try to find a pic and post it here, or take a pic of what I have and post it later. I remember that my parents bought it at Pascal of Cote-des-Neiges (Mtl)  back in the Olden days.

When I was a kid, the Star Wars characters would enter some kinda portal and end up in the "Joe world". Cobra Commander and Vader would team up against Luke and Duke (heh! Luke Duke).

I still remember slowly peeling Joe logos off of my mobat to put on my X-Wing.

On a similar note, I used Techno Viper with my Star Wars and pretended he was Boba Fett in a bran new armor. The BAT was his trusted companion.

I bought a bunch of the Tech Deck concrete barriers, they will make a great City Strike Dio with the Alley Vipers and Shock Troopers (waiting).  I looked at there other offerings and some can work fine. I'm thinking about getting there park scene as well.

BBI vehicles are totally awesome, I have a Little Bird seen in Black Hawk Down, extremely detailed.  Ive been looking for a Pave Hawk but its too expensive and too big for my collection right now.  True Heroes which you find in Toys R Us are fantastic for the price, theres frequent sales like 40% off at TRU through out the year for these.  I have the Chinook transport and Sandbag bunker and was looking hard at the Patrol Boat they have, fantastic vehicles/playsets.

I use Maisto motor-bikes and some vehicles --like their Hummer.
I use Marvel Universe figures--the Hand ninja is now a COBRA ninja on my shelves, Toybiz Superhero Showdown figures work well, and some like Punisher can use Joe gear.
CORPS weapons work for some Joes.

Certain knock-off characters like Rambo, Robocop or Terminator work well--tese used to be carried by Zellers and are 3 3.4" scale. Cheaply made, but decent enough that they "fit" in.

There was a brief series of die-cast metal and plastic vehicles-- made by a company whose name I have long forgot--that featured an ATV, Dune buggy, a small jet, and a snowmobile.
The last one is PERFECT for Joes, and comes with a swappable weapon on its right-front nose. The snowmobile has a spring suspension and a rubber rear track--it bore quite a bit or resemblance to the Spytroops Polar Blast vehicle--although it was much sleeker.

They came with no figures and were not meant to have them-as far as the packaging was concerned.
The other vehicles, with the possible exception of the ATV were not quite suitable for figures.

The old Galoob Jonny Quest stuff works splendidly, and has a lot of variety to it. Some of it even ended up in the Joe line itself.

For me it's PTE and BBI..
Younger I was mixing my Joes with Visionaries.. they were bigger and stronger.. and they had the same articulation!
SKOmega is a dream come true for me!
